Radical surgical treatment of pilonidal cyst in patients continues to be relevant. Despite a variety of surgical interventions in this disease, the treatment results are often unsatisfactory. To reduce the time of postoperative wound healing and the period of temporary incapacity is possible with operations in which the wound is sutured tightly. In 22 patients after excision of the pilonidal cyst closure of the tissue defect was carried out by muscle-aponeurotic flaps. The complications of this operation motivated the authors to improve the method, and that eliminated the cavity above the sacral fascia, reduced the depth of intergluteal fold and brought together the edges of skin wounds. The first encouraging results of application the new modification have been achieved in 8 patients.
Key words: pilonidal cyst, surgical treatment, closure of surgical wound.
