New facilities to identify the risk factors of glaucoma in patients with systemic sarcoidosis

The article presents the results of the study of interleukins IL-1, IL-8, TNF-α level in the tear fluid of patients with open-angle glaucoma accompanied by lung sarcoidosis. The data were compared of the group of patients with glaucoma without systemic diseases and a group of patients with sarcoidosis without eye diseases. The IL-1, IL-8, TNF-α levels in patients with glaucoma with systemic sarcoidosis was increased. The reliable increase of interleukins level in tears with glaucoma accompanied by sarcoidosis, which allows to suggest the inflammatory character of glaucoma.
