New approach to early diagnostics of diabetes mellitus during pregnancy

At present more and more pregnancy is accompanied by carbohydrate metabolism disorder that sometimes cannot be diagnosed in time. It is related to the absence of a single approach to the diagnosis of gestational diabetes in Russia. Thanks to the Russian national consensus «Gestational diabetes: diagnostics, treatment, postnatal supervision» it becomes possible to avoid the majority of pregnancy complications in women with the risk of gestational diabetes. This article highlights the relevance of violation of a carbohydrate exchange during pregnancy, possible and most frequent complications arising at pregnant women with pregestational and gestational diabetes, new approach to an early diagnosis and care of women with the newly diagnosed changes of a carbohydrate metabolism.
