The article gives the results of the morphological research of an enucleated eyeball of a patient having a history of posterior eye surgery drainage using spongiform allogeneic graft of a new generation that have been carried out with neuritis of the optic nerve. Enucleation was performed for medical reasons due to recrudescence of chronic uveitis after the trauma of an operated eye in the late postoperative period with the threat of sympathetic inflammation of a paired eye. The period of allograft location inside the eyeball is 1 year after the surgery. The study was aimed to identify the structural changes taking place in the future after the operation of drainage in the used biomaterials. The study has revealed that spongy biomaterial after drainage surgery of the posterior part of an eyeball retains its cellular structure and does not lose tinctorial properties characteristic of connective tissue, of which this type of transplant is made. Spongy allograft has not resolved in course of time, remained well in the tissues of the recipient, has not scared, sprouted by individual blood vessels, having created by forming collaterals extra food for the eye membranes. The walls of the allograft cells haven’t meshed, and prolonged activation by a long drainage function in the optic nerve, which is especially important for removal of edema with neuritis.

Key words: optic neuritis, spongiform allograft, drainage of an eye.
