The article presents the results of examination of 120 women with chronic endometritis. The endometrial mictroflora of those patients was analyzed, and the morphological-functional state of the endometrium was evaluated. The chronic endometritis was shown to be a microbic or microbic-viral disease. In women with the viral component of chronic endometritis, the prevailing infective agents were Epstein-Barr virus, HPV and the virus of herpes simplex I and II types. In the aggregate of bacterial flora they result in chronic inflammatory process in the endometrium.

Key words: chronic endometritis, endometrium, viral bacterial flora.
