The modern methods of the optic nerve visualization include MRI of orbit, ultrasound, OCT, SOCT, HRT. In the recent year, SOCT has become one of the leading methods of visualization in ophthalmology, enabling to diagnose the optic nerve and retina diseases. The article considers the modern methods of the optic nerve visualization, in particular, the results of the optic nerve pathology investigation with OCT-A. Further research is required to estimate the potential of the new OCT-A technology in diagnosing the optic nerve diseases.
Key words: OCT, OCT-A, spectral-domain optical coherence tomography, optic nerve atrophy, optic nerve head.
