Objective. The article analyzes the use of information technologies in managing the reproductive health care in the Chuvash Republic.

Material and methods. Normative legal documents of the federal and regional levels in the field of healthcare informatization were studied, including the results of the activities of the «Health» national project, the regional strategic plan for restructuring the system of medical care for 2003-2010, the Healthcare Modernization Program in the Chuvash Republic in 2011-2014, the state program of the Chuvash Republic «Development of Healthcare» in 2014-2017.

Results. The stages of introducing information technologies in reproductive health care at the regional level are described. It was noted that the phased centralization of the institutions for the protection of motherhood and childhood in Chuvashia necessitated the use of modern information technologies in this sector of reproductive health care. The introduction of the health information system in Chuvashia allowed integrating the information system for the pregnant women health monitoring with other information systems of the republican medical information system of Chuvashia in order to conduct of an outpatient and in-patient electronic medical documentation and to form a personalized record of medical services rendered to the population of reproductive age.

Conclusion. Measures to improve the quality and accessibility of health services in the area of the reproductive health, as well as the structural effectiveness of the system of providing medical assistance to the working-age population, maternity and childhood services in Chuvashia were accompanied by the introduction of modern information technologies in the activities of medical organizations. In the Republic, an automated remote examination of the quality of medical care for pregnant women is organized, as well as monitoring the health status of the entire working-age population, including the results of medical examinations and preventive medical examinations.
