The article reveals the socially significant problem of the growing occurrence of non-psychotic mental disorders in children caused by the features of modern childhood – premature mastering of electronic devices; parents’ striving for early education to the detriment of the children’s sensory, emotional and communicative development; motivation to social achievements; tension of cognitive functions; restriction of emotional and motor self-realization of children. The technogenic, educational and social challenges of «digital era» actively influence the ontogenesis, exceed the age-specific psycho-physiological capabilities of brain and result in school maladjustment, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and asthenia. To improve the mental health of children, it is proposed to arrange active interaction of public health experts and education system within the framework of the biopsychosocial approach and to perform psychoprophylactic and psychoeducational work with families.
Key words: children’s mental health, health of schoolchildren, school maladjustment, dyslexia, asthenia, depression, emotional intellect, biopsychosociomental conception of a personality.
