The article presents the results of a survey of 36 patients with virus-associated allergic rhinitis. We conducted a study of the clinical efficacy of meglumine acridon acetate (cycloferon) liniment in 19 patients with seasonal virus-associated allergic rhinitis (allergic to Artemisia pollen) at the stage of exacerbation and remission. The control group consisted of 17 patients with virus-associated seasonal allergic rhinitis (allergic to Artemisia pollen). All patients who took part in the study had AR, accompanied by the infectious syndrome clinic, the presence of an opportunistic infection (cytomegalovirus, herpes virus type I-II). The course treatment with cyclicferon liniment was carried out in two stages: in the autumn-winter period and in the period of palliation together with the basic anti-inflammatory therapy. In the main group, a thin layer of Cycloferon liniment ointment was applied on the mucosa of the nasal cavity aperture 2 times a day for 15 days. Patients of the control group were not treated by Cycloferon liniment ointment. During the period of palliation, all patients received baseline therapy with antihistamines and decongestants as needed. The efficiency of intranasal immunotherapy with cycloferon liniment in individuals with virus-associated allergic rhinitis was estimated by the analysis of the clinical pictture, clinical questionnaires, T5SS scale analysis, and the RQLQ questionnaire.
Key words: local immunotherapy, herpetic-viral infection, virus-associated allergic rhinitis, Cycloferon.
