Literature and proprietary data on changes in heart condition after iron overload syndrome are given. In late stages an increase in size of cardiac chambers is traced. The earliest symptom was the increase in rigidity of myocardium (restriction): lengthening the duration of rapid filling phase and inhibition of blood flow.

Key words: cardiomyopathy, iron overload, restriction.
