Features of parent-child relationships in families with a child with acute lymphoblastic leukemia

The article presents the results of experimental psychodiagnostic study of parent-child relationship in families with a child with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The techniques used included: «Analysis of family relationships» questionnaire, PARI — parent attitude research instrument, projective research techniques of specific-personal, emotional relationship of the child with other people and “Family kinetic drawing” technique. Analysis of the connection between the studied parameters revealed the correspondence between the level of mother’s input and care and communication motivation decrease and negative attitude to the siblings of the child. Parental conflicts lead to the child’s growing dominance indicator within the family. The article has practical value to doctors, psychologists, volunteers, and other people involved in the palliative care in the children’s hematology and oncology departments.
