The article presents the results of a clinical examination of women with uterine myoma, delivered by cesarean section and the corresponding data of women in control groups, as well as the results of questioning of these women about breastfeeding. As a result of the study, it was found that women with uterine myoma were less likely to breast-feed, significantly earlier completed breastfeeding, and the duration of lactational amenorrhea in this group of women was significantly shorter. In general, the main reason for the early abandonment of breastfeeding was that the women surveyed described the lack or insufficient quantity of breast milk, which indicates a lack of organization of breastfeeding. The staff of maternity wards should pay attention to the organization of breastfeeding during the days of puerperal stay in a health facility, especially in the group of women with uterine myoma.
Key words: breastfeeding, uterine myoma, cesarean section.
