This article presents the results of studying of the efficiency of combined of adjuvant-induced arthritis with methotrexate (1 mg/kg intraperitoneally 1 time per week) and thioctic acid (11 mg/kg intraperitoneally daily) versus monotherapy with both medication. We chouse the following criteria for experimental therapy efficiency evaluation: oncometric method for determination of the volume of inflamed paws in the dynamics, hind limbs X-ray examination and blood test in the end of the 1-month course of therapy. We found that combined use of thioctic acid with MTX inhibits adjuvant-induced intensity of edema, prevented erosions, deformations of the joints of rats, normalized amount of leukocytes and erythrocyte sedimentation rate in peripheral blood in comparison with methotrexate monotherapy.

Key words: adjuvant arthritis, thioctic acid, methotrexate, rats, therapy.
