The article presents the experience of treating a specific complication of blocked intramedullary osteosynthesis — a break of the intramedullary pin. We present two methods of removing the broken distal end, depending on the localization of the breakage of the intramedullary pin. The developed and probated methods enable to reduce the traumatic operative intervention, intraopertive blood loss and the time of operative intervention.
Key words: hip fracture, breakage of the femoral blocked intramedullary pin, intramedullary osteosynthesis, specific complications of intramedullary osteosynthesis.
