The efficacy of classical gauze tamponade of the nasal cavity and application of polyvinyl alcohol tampons in the postoperative period in 114 patients was assessed. In the patients for whom current tampons were applied after the correction of the nasal septum, and after endoscopic polysinusotomy, low levels of discomfort and pain during the postoperative period and the removal of tampons have been revealed. In this group the length of hospitalization is also reduced.
Key words: intranasal packs, endoscopic rhinosurgery, correction of a nasal septum, polyvinyl alcohol tampons.
