Endocrine orbitopathy and methods of its diagnostics

This paper presents literature data indicating the relevance of endocrine orbitopathy studies. In Russia, there are practically no specialized centers where patients with endocrine orbitopathy can receive a comprehensive interdisciplinary examination and treatment. There is no algorithm for examining patients with early signs of endocrine orbitopathy. At the same time, late diagnosis of this pathology, lack of stable compensation for functional disorders of the thyroid gland, and errors in determining the phase of the endocrine orbitopathy lead to irreversible loss of vision. Literature data show the need to develop new available methods for early diagnosis and monitoring of patients with endocrine orbitopathy.
