To determine the value of the functional activity of platelets and neutrophils, depending on their antioxidant potential in coxiellosis.
Material and methods. In 118 patients with coxiellosis, platelet aggregation and neutrophil aggregation were investigated.
Results. In 15,2% of patients, clinical manifestations of hemorrhagic syndrome were recorded, while against the background of thrombocytopenia, a decrease in the degree of platelet aggregation was noted 4 times, and of neutrophils – 2 times excess. Neutralization of lipid peroxidation products decreased due to depression of catalase (CT) in platelets by 3 times and in neutrophils – by 1,5 times.
The conclusion. Circulating C. burnetii strains in the Astrakhan Region in patients cause an imbalance in the relation of platelets and neutrophils, due to a decrease in CT activity in these blood cells.
Key words: coxiellosis, neutrophils, oxidative stress, platelets.
