This article is devoted to clinical application of modern treatment strategies of pulmonary embolism. The results of surgical treatment and thrombolytic therapy in patients with acute pulmonary artery thromboembolia (PAT) were reviewed. There were examined the methods of diagnosis and treatment in 39 patients hospitalized with diagnosis of acute PAT, in the context of practical recommendations. There was found non-compliance of algorithms for diagnosis of PAT, resulting in delayed treatment and disease progression. The use of surgical treatment gives better clinical results than thrombolysis. Thus, there is the need for a comprehensive approach to the treatment of PAT in recognition of anatomical location of thromboembolism in the pulmonary artery and aggressive surgical approach.
Key words: pulmonary artery thromboembolia, thromboembolectomy, surgical treatment of pulmonary thromboembolism, thrombolytic therapy.
