Surgical treatment of fractures and pseudoarthrosis of hand is a topical problem in surgery. The anatomical specificity of this zone, the nature of injuries, the difficulties of diagnosis, lack of a unified system of treatment determine a large number of unsatisfactory results of treatment. The easiest way of fixing the hand bones has been and remains the osteosynthesis with wires, although its flaws are obvious ― lack of stability, required for more permanent immobilization and constant dressings. Foreign devices for osteosynthesis are expensive and do not always meet the requirements of modern hand surgery. The devices made in Russia, with shape memory for the bone fixation have been used for more than 30 years and have a number of advantages among which are simplicity, low cost, and compression of the fracture for the entire period of treatment. The article presents the experience of treatment of 42 patients with fractures and false joints of the hand bones with the device with shape memory, spokes, and microsurgery. A comparative analysis of treatment outcomes is made. The obtained data allow to more accurately predict the outcome of treatment depending on the type of osteosynthesis.
Key words: hand surgery, osteosynthesis, shape memory implant, microsurgery.
