The article presents the results of the combined technique of YAG-laser and femtosecond laser phacofragmentation impact on the lenses nuclei of the 3 and 4 degrees of density, elaborated b the authors. The clinical efficacy of the technique for cataract surgery is estimated. The study included 225 patients (225 eyes). In the main group (75 patients, 75 eyes), patients underwent a combined technique of YAG-laser phacofragmentation and femtolaser impact on the lens nuclei before cataract phacoemulsification (CPE) with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. In control group 1 (75 patients, 75 eyes), femtosecond laser-assisted ultrasound CPE with IOL implantation was performed. In control group 2 (75 patients, 75 eyes), only ultrasound CPE with IOL implantation was performed. Evaluation of the clinical efficacy showed that the use of the combined technique of YAG-laser and femtosecond laser phacofragmentation impact on the lenses nucleus with high density allows reducing the total energy during the ultrasound CPE, minimizing the risk of intraoperative complications, and achieving high functional results.
Key words: cataract phacoemulsification, femtosecond laser-assisted treatment, YAG-laser impact
