The comparative investigation of clinical features of psychotic mania was carried out in 125 patients (77 men and 48 women). All patients were divided in two groups: with mood incongruent or atypical (n=54) and mood congruent (n=71) psychotic symptoms. That study has shown the high level of manic-delusional variants in patients with atypical mania. High prevalence of delusions secondary to mood disorders was found in patients of both groups. High prevalence of delusion secondary to perception disorders was found in patients with atypical mania. Since the first debut of the disease manifested by psychotic mania, the differences can be traced, which allow to predict the further course of the disease.
Key words: clinical features, psychotic mania, atypical mania.
