The article presents the results of observations of 355 children after acute Epstein-Barr virus infection. The issues of the epidemiology of this disease in children in the Samara region are discussed. The regional clinical features depending on the course of infection are studied. The dynamics shows the decline in the number of severe atypical forms. The severe atypical forms of EBVI often have no specific features, thus being hard to diagnose.
Key words: Epstein-Barr virus infection, children, epidemiology, clinical features.
