This article discusses the issues of chronic pain, its multicomponents (discharge of nociceptive, neuropathic and dysfunctional components), as well as the peculiarities of overcoming pain (coping-strategies) in case of psoriatic arthritis. Most of the scientific works on strategies to overcome chronic pain syndrome are devoted to rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Despite the great practical and scientific significance, there are too little research on multicomponent pain in case of psoriatic arthritis. Overview of literature on this subject shows that the incidence of depression in patients with psoriatic arthritis is higher than in patients with only skin manifestations of psoriasis. Against the background of burdened depression high level of suicidal tendencies is traced. The choice of coping strategies depends on the location of skin manifestations of the disease.
Key words: psoriatic arthritis, chronic pain, coping-strategies, depression.
