In examination of 10 patients with decompensated forms of chronic constipation syndrome methods of computed tomographic colonography and passage of original radiopaque markers on the gastrointestinal tract have been used. We noted the high information value of computed tomographic colonography. Its allows to obtain three-dimensional image of the colon with abnormal architectonics and disposition of the colon in the abdominal cavity. The speed of markers movement, their distribution in the gut, and the timing of the evacuation objectively reflects impaired evacuation function, moreover the method is easy to perform and interpret. The combined use of these techniques undoubtedly opens new perspectives in the diagnosis of anatomical and functional abnormalities in patients with chronic constipation syndrome, however, requires further study. The methods of computed tomographic colonography and passage of radiopaque markers can be considered as an alternative to traditional diagnostic methods of chronic constipation.
Key words: chronic constipation, computed tomographic colonography, passage of radiopaque markers.
