In order to study physical characteristics of microemboli in patients with various embolia genesis and to evaluate the efficiency of anticoagulant and disaggregation therapy was carried out an assessment of 39 patients with acute cerebrovascular accident aged between 24 and 82 years — 16 (41%) of women and 23 (59%) of men. All patients underwent CT or MRI study, ultrasound investigation of extracranial arteries, transcranial dopplerography, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardioscopy, ultrasound monitoring of blood flow with microemboli detection. Two types of embolic signals were found: “solid” microemboli were of high power signal (more than 10 dB) and were accompanied by a click. After the repeated study was conducted against the background of anticoagulant and disaggregation therapy, the number of solid emboli in patient has not been changed essentially. For «soft» microemboli power of less than 10 dB is characteristic, they are not accompanied by sound. Anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapy resulted in a significant reduction of the amount of microemboli (to the point of extinction).
Key words: acute cerebrovascular accident, microemboli detection.
