The article presents 18 year experience of operations in patients with hiatal hernia. At the Esophagus Surgery Department, 922 operations in patients with this pathology were performed. The work is based on 43 reoperation. The reasons for reoperations were: bleeding, persistent dysphagia, perforation of the stomach, secondary paraesophageal hernia, troacar hernia and recurrence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).The most common complication was the recurrence of GERD. We performed 33 reconstructive operations, some patients underwent two and one patient – three reconstructive surgery. The causes of relapse were analyzed. The long-term results of reconstructive operations are presented.
Key words: gastroesophageal reflux disease, hiatal hernia, complications of laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery, reoperation.
