The paper presents a clinical case of a patient with acromegaly. Acromegaly is a chronical disease caused by hyperfunction of the anterior pituitary gland. It leads to the excess secretion of the growth hormone. Diagnosis is often complicated, while without proper treatment, this disease leads to significant decline of life quality and patients’ disability as well as death. The clinical case presents a patient who had been treated by her physician for arterial hypertension for a long time. It is necessary to remember that the increase of arterial pressure among young people can be one of the symptoms of endocrinological pathology, in particular acromegaly.
Key words: acromegaly, pituitary adenoma, somatostatin analogs.
